PharmAssist Consulting

History (Site updated April 2024)

PharmAssist Consulting began life in June 1996 when its founder Greg Morgan started an assignment at the manufacturing site of Hoechst Marion Roussel in Swindon, helping to implement a new and innovative activity based costing system as part of a wider finance transformation project.

At the turn of the millennium, HMR merged with Rhone Poulenc Rohrer to form Aventis, and PharmAssist was relocated to Paris, being retained to assist with the merger and roll out the Standard Costing system to the newly acquired sites worldwide. After working on a number of strategic initiatives, including the divestiture of three sites, the association was further extended to include the sale of a fourth site in Istanbul, taking the total relationship to seven years. At this stage the engagement in Turkey included a review of existing but established contracts, resulting in a saving to Aventis of around $100k per annum.

With a knowledge base now extending well beyond Finance, in 2004 the original partnership became a Limited Company, allowing it to spread its activities outside the EU. Contracts soon followed with other multinationals in Turkey, Kuwait, Tunisia, South Africa and Mauritius before re-basing itself back in the UK in 2017.

Since its inception, PharmAssist has worked with some of the largest pharmaceutical companies in the world, helping them increase their sales, reduce COGS, maximise profitability and optimise cash flow. It is estimated that through a hands on, collaborative approach and an understanding of pharmaceutical processes, attention to detail, PharmAssist has saved its clients well over £2 million to date.
